Who you're dealing with

Clearing is made by Studio Luna, the trading name of Valerio Italiano, a sole proprietor based in Berkeley, California. These terms are between you and Studio Luna.

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. That means Lemon Squeezy is legally the seller for the transaction: it takes the payment, collects and remits any applicable tax, and issues your receipt. Their name, not ours, is what appears on your bank or card statement. The license to use Clearing is granted by Studio Luna, and these terms cover that license.

What you're buying

Clearing is free to install and runs unrestricted for seven days. After that, a license is needed to keep using it.

A license costs $12, paid once. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. The trial and the licensed version are the same software with the same features — the license is what lets you keep using Clearing after the trial ends, not what unlocks anything.

What you are buying is a license to use Clearing. You are not buying the software itself, and ownership of Clearing stays with Studio Luna.

Using your license

Your license is personal to you and can be used on up to three machines at a time.

If you replace a computer or reach the limit, there are two ways to free a slot.

If you still have the machine, release it from the license settings in Clearing. The slot is freed immediately.

If you no longer have it — sold, lost, or simply retired before you thought to release it — email support@getclearing.app and we'll free the slot for you. This happens often, and it's quick.

The license is not transferable. Please don't share your license key, publish it, or resell it. License keys found in public circulation may be deactivated.

What "forever" means

Your license doesn't expire. It covers Clearing as it exists when you buy it, and any updates we release afterwards for as long as Clearing is maintained.

We can't promise to develop Clearing indefinitely, and a future major version may one day be sold separately. If that happens, what you already bought keeps working — nothing is taken away from you.

Clearing checks your license periodically, and caches the answer so it keeps working offline. If that check can't reach us, Clearing carries on rather than locking you out. What the check involves is described in the privacy policy.

If we ever stop selling or supporting Clearing, we will switch the license checks off rather than leave them failing. Clearing will continue to work on the machines where it's installed, without a license check, for as long as Chrome supports it.

Refunds

Refunds are covered below, and separately at getclearing.app/refunds.

If a purchase is refunded or reversed through a chargeback, the license it paid for stops being valid and Clearing returns to its unlicensed state. Nothing you created is deleted — your tab groups and settings belong to Chrome and stay where they are.

What's not allowed

Please don't:

• redistribute Clearing, or sell it, whether modified or not
• work around the trial period or the license check, or help others do so
• decompile or reverse engineer Clearing, except where the law gives you that right regardless of what these terms say
• remove or obscure the Studio Luna name from the extension

If a license is used in a way that breaks these terms, we may deactivate it.

No warranty, and what we're liable for

Clearing is provided as it is. We've built it carefully and we use it ourselves, but we can't promise it will be free of faults, will suit every purpose, or will keep working through every future change Chrome makes to how extensions work.

To the extent the law allows, Studio Luna's total liability to you for anything arising out of Clearing or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for your license.

Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law, and some places give consumers rights that these terms can't override. Where that's the case, those rights apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Clearing changes. The effective date at the top shows when the current version was published, and material changes will be noted on this page.

Changes apply going forward. They don't alter the license you already bought, its price, or the commitment above about what happens if Clearing is ever retired.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and the courts of Alameda County, California are where any dispute would be heard.

If you're buying as a consumer somewhere with its own consumer protection laws, this doesn't take those rights away from you. Your local protections apply alongside these terms.
